How to Connect My Facebook Page with Insight Goat AI

Are you ready to connect your Facebook page to Insight Goat AI's smart agents? Great choice! This integration will help you manage and streamline your Facebook conversations effortlessly. Follow this step-by-step guide to get started!
Before we dive in, ensure you are the admin of the Facebook page you want to connect. This is essential for a smooth integration process.
1) Connecting Your Facebook Page to Insight Goat AI
First, log into your Insight Goat AI account. Once logged in, navigate to the Facebook Pages section on the homepage.
To create a new Facebook page channel, click Create, enter your Facebook page name, and click Create again.
Now that your channel is created, you'll need to enter your Facebook page ID. If you're unsure how to find it, check out this guide: How to Find My Facebook Page ID?.
Next, associate your new channel with an AI agent by selecting an existing agent from the dropdown. We’ll also need to create a Facebook Developer App, but don’t worry—I’ll guide you through that too!
2) Create a Developer App
Head over to the Facebook Developers Portal. Click on My Apps, then Create App.
Fill in the required details like the app name, contact email, and app purpose. Make sure to select Business as your app type. After filling in the details, click Create App, and you’ll be directed to your new app's dashboard.
3) Enable Messenger as a Product
Now, enable Messenger as a product of your Facebook app. Locate Messenger and click Set Up.
Follow the prompts to integrate Messenger with your app, enabling your Insight Goat AI bot to send and receive messages via Messenger. Exciting, right?
4) Configure Webhooks with the Correct Permissions
Webhooks are essential for seamless communication between your app and Facebook Messenger. In your Developer app, go to the Webhooks section under Messenger settings and click Configure.
Here, note the Callback URL and Verify Token provided by Insight Goat AI. Input these details into the corresponding fields in your Facebook Developer App. Once done, click Verify and Save.
After verifying the webhook, you need to subscribe to the messages field. Click Manage as shown in the image, scroll down to find the messages field, and click the Subscribe button.
5) Generate Access Token
Now for an important step—the access token! This token allows Insight Goat AI to communicate with your Facebook page. In the Messenger settings of your Developer app, scroll to Token Generation and click Get Started.
Select your Facebook page, click Generate, and voila! Copy this token and keep it safe; you’ll need it for the integration.
6) Make Your App Live
Once everything is set up, it's time to make your app live. Navigate to App Review in the Facebook Developer Dashboard. Facebook will review your app to ensure it complies with their policies (this usually takes around 5 days).
Once you receive approval, activate your app by toggling the Live switch.
Now your app is live! Your Insight Goat AI chatbot can communicate with your Facebook Messenger audience—how amazing is that?
7) Set Up Facebook Channel in Insight Goat AI
Let’s return to Insight Goat AI. Go back to the Facebook Pages section in your dashboard and paste the access token you just generated into the appropriate field.
Finally, confirm the connection and test your chatbot by sending a message to your Facebook page.
