Connecting Your WhatsApp to Your AI Agent

Ready to connect your WhatsApp to your AI agent? You’re in the right place! I’ll guide you through the process step by step.
Before You Start: Make sure you have a WhatsApp phone number and a WhatsApp Business account set up through the Facebook Developer dashboard. We assume this setup is already complete.
Step 1: Log in to Your Account
First, log in to your Insight Goat AI account. Once you're on the homepage, navigate to and click on WhatsApp.
Step 2: Add Your WhatsApp Account
If you haven’t added your WhatsApp account yet, you’ll see a friendly Create button. Click on it and enter your WhatsApp phone number.
Step 3: Choose Your AI Agent
After connecting your phone number, it’s time to select the agent you want to link to your WhatsApp account. This agent is your personal AI assistant that will interact with your users. If you haven’t created an agent yet, no worries! Here’s a quick guide to help you create and train one.
Step 4: Set Up Your WhatsApp API Info
Now, let’s configure your WhatsApp API information. You’ll need your Access Token to connect your WhatsApp account to Insight Goat AI.
You can provide either a system user token or a temporary token. We have guides for both options:
Step 5: Configure Webhooks
Finally, set up the webhooks so Insight Goat AI can receive messages from your WhatsApp account.
Copy the Webhook URL and Verify Token from the WhatsApp setup page within Insight Goat AI. Then, go to your Facebook Developer dashboard and navigate to the Webhooks section.
In the Webhooks section, select WhatsApp Business Account from the dropdown menu and click Subscribe to this Object.
A popup will appear where you can paste the Webhook URL and Verify Token. Fill in the details and click Verify and Save.
